If you have a camera or the 7-in-1 cards you have USB devices connected. Gevo indicated that he had a Cooler connected to the Laptop and this cooler had a two port hub to which his wireless mouse was attached. Additionally, in a OM indicated that he was using one of the memory cards.

Don't understand how one can conclude that "NO usbs connected at all"???

i said that i took a flqsh cqrd out of the 7 in 1 card reader without taking the safe removal path . And i was wonderinf if that may have caused the problem i have.

gevo, don't know if that caused the problem. My earlier comments are that you do have USB devices attached to your system. Did you try any of the suggestions?

i disabled and uninstalled all the usb devices one by one and let the windows identify them on the startup. And now i mean yesterday i didn't have the problem. but who knows because it doesn't show up every day so i am waiting for it to show up every moment )

Let's just hope that those actions cured the problems.

The 8790's Web cam is connected to an internal USB connection on the mobo and it complains upon OS install that there's a USB2 device on a 1.1 port after you install the drivers. It usually only does this once and it hasn't done it again since. However everytime you install the device drivers (why you would do this I don't know) it will display this alert.

I don't know if this is related, but perhaps its an internal device connection. I was told by tech support to try uninstalling the usb drivers, rebooting and then letting Windows reinstall the USB drivers. This didn't fix anything. But for some reason, it went away after warning me once. I'm using the latest drivers for the 8790 and haven't had the problem again.

ok, i ment there was no "mass storage device connected" and nothing connected to the external ports.
right now, i took this picture of the devices, i do have a wireless mouse in, and this is on the 9880 so it has the card readers and cam.

see the thing?

Under Imaging Devices, disable the Bison Cam. And wait at least a week to see if the problem comes back.

I get this same problem sometimes when I plug in my Creative Zen USB 2.0 mp3 player. I have no solution other than unplugging and plugging it back in.

but that IS a usb mass storage device. most mp3 players use flash memory... it shows up as a msd.

i dont think the camera has anything to do with it...

ive essentially solved it AND my autoplay bug by "removing" it. when i start up my comp, i click at the taskbar thingee and tell it to safely remove. then i just leave it "safe to remove"... no more bother.
