z70v refresh just arrived! - Page 12

Your cpu fans will get very whiny driving you insane eventually breaking through the plastic fibre and hitting you in the knee cap. Upon close inspection you will all realize its not really carbon fibre. Smiles cpu will overheat from all the mods he has been practicing and Justin will void his warranty. A curse on all your laptops.

LoL! He should pay me for modding it. Then I could answer all sort of questions his customer got about the laptop because I will know it in and out.

If you want that special treatment too, send me a Z70v for me to play with and I'll do that for you too ahhahaha

I believe I should throw my opinion in this thread and support the folks at DL, Powernotebooks and Proportable and state that we too are seriously considering dropping the Asus brand from our site until we receive a satisfactory response from the powers that be at Asus as to how they plan to address this matter.

We have been told directly by Asus that the units that ISTNC offered for "pre-sale" were indeed intended for an "Educational Project" (as has been stated by the other resellers in this thread and others). Such units are not to be resold to general consumers. Asus has assured us that they will "launch an investigation" into this matter, however, this was stated about 2 weeks ago and still we wait.

Our concern is not so much one of a particular reseller being afforded an "unfair advantage" so to speak, but rather, one of the malleable policies of Asus themselves. We question whether or not a company who will bend their own rules and try to sweep it under the carpet until the rest of the reseller community called them on this matter is one which we intend to keep as a long-term partner.

We too are pleased that those folks that ordered these units got them as quickly as they did in advance of the official release and we hope you are all happy with your purchases. Our issues with Asus are not intended to take anything away from those end customers.

I'm not saying your wrong, but if anybody has a right to be liberal with a policy, isn't it the people that set the policy?

I will say though that whatever the case, if ASUS did in fact say they'd do something about the situation and hasn't, you guys do have a right to be at least slightly pissed off. I know I would be.

if you're liberal with a policy, blaze, it's not a policy or even a guideline. it's has no bearing when they put forth the NEXT policy, which they could bend or break at any time as they have in the past.

that's what policies are for, and if resellers can't depend on Asus to keep their policies across the board, why would they support them? That's the basic issue here, not the certain reseller, but Asus.

I won't go so far as to paste the emails but to simply reiterate that they not only verified that the units at ISTNC were part of an Education Project but also that they intended to investigate the matter.

Interesting, another reseller have shed the light and voice in this matter. I know we have a few other people who are resellers and have still not voice it as a reseller yet.

More POPCORN please..

I'm inclined to agree with you. The much bigger issue than whether or not istnc messed up is whether or not and how Asus messed up, and how they intend to regain the support of the resellers that have lost faith in them.

you already knew the mods were watching this thread. But now you know what they're snacking on while watching this thread!

Let me add this as well, as it may be the last post I will make on this board on this topic.

We will have access to the Z70Va on Monday. To my knowledge, other resellers will not, which proves my point all along. ASUS is still playing favorites. rather than addressing the issue at hand, they sent a shipment for our use. Well, we are not carrying ASUS notebooks until ASUS comes clean. ASUS has yet to deliver on any promises.

UPDATE: Arrival date has softened up to "sometime next week now."

Whoa! Next week already?! That sounds great. But are you going to sell them? send them back? or just hold on to them for a bit?

I think you guys forgot one major problem. The z70va was originally delayed multiple times due to design flaw. One of the problem was trying to get the x700 to work properly in the z70va. The other was ATI wasn't able to meet the x700 demand. Then it became a problem with the LCD shortage, etc, etc, etc.

My guess, it might be a wild left field guess, but Asus is way behind schedule on these laptops. Thus, they are pumping up production to meet the demand. Instead of waiting for 1000 units to be ready and delivery to all the resellers at once, they are playing the game of what comes out, get ship out accordingly.

This could be the reason why resellers are receiving them in scatter....

Just a wild guess eheheh

I didn't know that this was ever confirmed? I had thought that the rumors of the delay being due to a design problem were still just rumors?

I don't think anybody knows anything anymore. This must be what it feels like to go insane...

EDIT: I didn't mean for that to be an inflammatory post, more of a "lighten up" post. BUT YOU JUST HAD TO RUIN MY FUN!

And now it's said that the DVI option will be available towards the end of September. That's just swell. More waiting.

sorry. It's sometimes hard to determine intention, and it could have been taken as inflammatory.

Man, I am telling you. Asus is toying you your f* brain.

First they release the Z71V to tease you. Everone got hyped and scour as much as possible, then they annouce Z70v. Everyone gasped and scour that. They then release the z70va with x700 ati and bluetooth. Everyone cause a huge stir about it.

He said she said we said they all said....

Now they will release the z70va w/DVI....

Next thing you'll know it once people start buying those stuckers, they will annouce Z71va w/nvidia 6800 video card and bluetooth ahahahahha
