Desktop GPU Help!!!

My friend is installing a 6800 in his desktop, the instructions do not say if he needs to split the power, or if he can connect the card directly to the PSU.

What do you mean split the power? You simply plug an extra power cable into the card. At least that's how my 6600 worked. Yes, you plug it directly from the psu. I would recommend at least a 400-500w psu though, especially if he has multiple hd's and drives.
