Bluetooth Mice on Z70Va

Has anyone that owns the Z70Va used a Bluetooth mouse with it?

If so, how did it pair up? Did it require installation of software, or did it work immediately?

I'm deciding between the MS Intellimouse Explorer or the IOGear BT mouse.

wow..the MS Intellimouse Explorer is actually blue. Man, i can't wait my z70va.

tekky: that's a bit pricey though for a mouse, bought just so we can use the specs of our newly bought, expensive lappie...

I don't have the exact model # of the mouse that ISTNC sent but it is a Belkin bluetooth, and it works like a charm. Easy sync-up and there is no lag whatsoever!

I don't know exactly what your idea of "pricey" is, but I don't see $35 as a hefty sum of money considering that other BT mice are for more expensive.

You just gotta search around, and make sure you can really find a reputable seller. I consider the investment worth it because the mouse will most likely outlast the notebook itself, and if one of the two differences the Z70Va offers is BT, you might as well seize the opportunity to use it. Hell, some of us waited multiple months for this thing, making sacrifices for the long run.

And that's all I have to say about BT mice and the Z70Va.

Unfortunately, though, Bluetooth mice are limited to about 800dpi because of bandwidth issues... its too bad you can't get some kind of "RF" PCMCIA card instead.

Just out of curiosity, since using a BT mice would require the internal BT to be activated, would this cause the battery to drain faster? So would it be more battery effiecicient to use a USB cordless mice? or even an actual corded mice?

liveisnotlive: So, if I understand you correctly, you received a mouse from ISTNC with your z70va order? That's pretty awesome.

tekkynikality: Wow, $35 US? I was at a nearby computer store and I saw them for $50. I thought to myself, $50 for a mouse? True, it's damn sexy and B l u e t oo t h, and if you're willing to pay, go ahead. I feel the same way about using what I paid/waited for, and a cordless beauty would be nice

Redmumba: I looked all over for one with RF, but then I gave up. I'll just get a little "dongle" if I really need it.

You just have to look around for a good price...

And liveisnotlive's mouse was most likely paid for, not a free gift from ISTNC or anything, as sweet as that may be...

Eclipsed: Yes I did, I had to pay for it of course. I had originally configured my order to come with a wireless mouse but I said to myself "wait a minute! that makes no sense!" So I sent Rick an e-mail and he sent me a link to this Belkin mouse to check out, which I simply switched in for the other mouse.

...foolish me, for thinking this thing comes with freebies. I've heard of IST giving out gifts for certain shipments.

Uh..do you have to press a Connect button with a pen to initiate it? Need to know what you're doing and what is/isn't happening.
