You should check www.fatwallet.com for the current Dell coupons and offers. I wouldn't order one just yet. I would wait till the 24th when the next deals come around to see if there is anything better. I have a 40% off coupon that expires on 8/30 and i'm holdeing out to see if Dell will change that stupid 15% amount off on the XPS 2's because when i use my 40% off it takes away their 15% off. If they do a dollar off amount or rebate however i can combine my 40% and their dollar off and get a better deal. In other words i'm holding out for something like $1500.

Yeah where did you get that 40% ?

I am wondering if the 40% will come back myself as I am about to order a 9300, or an XPS if I can get it below $1,500 for the basic config.

I bought it on eBay for $10. I saw the other day that there are some now even cheaper. Dell also has out a 35% off Inspiron coupon that you can find for free on FatWallet or other hot deal sites.

Dell had a 40% off inspiron coupon I used for my 9300 which ran out VERY quickly. I was considering a XPS2, but couldn't justify a near 50% price increase for relatively a little bit of performance increase for games. True it comes with upgraded HD, etc, but still the price percentage-wise was a bit much. It seems right after the 40% got expended, they released the 35%. I had been watching for a while, and it seems Dell is very sparing on releasing coupons for the XPS... most only work for other Inspirons. 35% is a decent coupon, 40% is great. I check cheapstingybastards.com for coupons as they consolidate the codes.

I believe the price of the 512MB/60GB HD (standard base options) would have put me at $1550 or something like that after 40% coupon.

Hmmm....I wonder should I take the chance and wait on a better deal or just go for the 35 % ?

The rep on the phone said this would probably be the end of the really great deals because these were meant to target the back to school crowd. Then again she was also trying to get me to buy a computer now.

Go to eBay and pick up a 40% off coupon for cheap that you can use on the XPS's and then wait till after the 24th to see what happens with the pricing on the XPS. The coupons are from the Dell hook-up program and their good till 8/31. You can also pick up one of the $35 off $300 coupons which will stack with the 40% off. And dont forget to log in through Fatwallet so you can get the 3% FatCash (if you dont know what this is then go to FatWallet to find out).

At the time I used my 40% coupon for the XPS2, the price difference for a similarly configured 9300 minus the video card difference was about $200.

For me it was worth the jump as I don't want to upgrade my lappy for quite some time (i.e. the 9300's vid card will be absolete sooner than the XPS2)...

BTW, don't forget to get off of Ebay a stackable $35 off Dell coupon and go thru Fatwallet for 3% (roughly $50 extra savings) which you'll get 3 months later.

Thanks burningrave. I checked that out. Even with the 40%, that puts me at $1649. I have to get to about $1350 (before tax and $19 handling charge) to get under Dell Financials $1500 limit.

Does that coupon work on a plain 9300 ?

It works for any Inspiron.

I hope your planning on paying off Dell immediately if your using a DPA account because they have some really high interest rates. I sometimes use my DPA account to get the 2% off coupon Dell has for DPA users but i always pay it off within a month or two before the finance charges build up.

I just noticed that it says the Inspiron has to be over $2499 to get the 40%. That would put me at $1500 before tax. I have to get at about 1300 before tax. Too bad it won't work on top of the Dell 20% ! I might have to stick to the $750 off coupon for my 9300.

I will try to pay off Dell Financial by the end of the year.

No, you can't.

All coupons are off the original price (the one in black). Since you can only use one, use the best one. Unless they give an upgrade for free (DVD Burner, printer, w/e), it overwrites whatever amount/% they give off.
