hello everyone, i just downloaded and installed the NVIDIA PureVideo decoder , which is supposed to integrate with wpm. However, when i try to play a dvd, the icon for the decoder come up in the taskbar (much like the divix icon does when used) but the dvd wont play. Just a black screen. Any suggestions? Thanks alot!

Mine works fine with my go 6200 and WMP 10. Which gpu/player are you using?

I thought that nVidia's purevideo only worked with nVidia cards and if you trying on your lappy I dont think it will on an ATI card as I understand that Pure Video is video acceleration but then again I could be wrong.

ive actually got it on my desktop. Its a 6600gt amd im using it with wmp10. Pygo, is it worth trying to figure out? How does it work? Im thinking if its not that great ill just give in an uninstall it, althought it would be cool to get working.

I like it quite a lot. I have heard of people having success with the decoder on Ati cards which is what i'm assuming you have in your notebook. Here's a link for a review:

Btw which version are you using?

I thought PureVideo was busted on 6xxx cards. Did they fix it?

the site says its a go for 6000 series. i tried reinstalling it and its still no go for me. I even tried an older version, but still no luck.

Hi guys,
My laptop has a nVidia 6400 Go. Would I be able to run this decoder? What is the big deal?
Thanx.

6400 on the Chembook 2030/Compal FL30. Very sweet notebook. Kinda wished I went for that instead of the Z71V.

figured id give it one more bump before i uninstall the decoder for good.

That is weird I never heard of a 6400 before. It is probably just an overclocked 6200. Also I think you need both Purevideo and the nVidia DVD decoder.
Man i heard that the 6400 is basically the same as my 6200 with a different firmware...if you ever get a 6400 firmware i think you'll make many 6200 notebook users very happy.

No you don't need purevideo to get it installed since some Ati guys have had luck...whether or not the purevideo helps is a different matter. Will test it out on my Ati card just to see if it works for me.

Btw i'm using version .45 and not .50...but in your case it's probably just a case of some type of incompatiblilty.

Cheers

I downloaded it and ran it on my 6400 and I don't see a difference between the b4 and after. Maybe my card doesn't have the HW to make use of it. Who knows.....
