Linspire: Ha ha FiZi! **** you to, give me your Credit Card because I won't install what you just downloaded.
And so formattery began. You might want to try Fedora Core 4 for a desktop but honestly Linux still needs some more work yet to be a good desktop OS though (personal opinion). Don't get me wrong, love linux as a server, not as a desktop os yet.
Oh and did you actually get a copy of OS X x86? So far I've heard its a file that repeats 'ASDF' a lot. I've played the Vmware Virtual Machine though, it was alright, pretty slow in Vmware but I bet it'd be better native. We'll need a x86 version thats been patched to work on AMDs since Intel is branding the OS to run ONLY on Intel hardware.
Well as a noob it is ok 5.0 is better than previous versions. This distro allowed everything on my m68XX to work out of the box , fglrx, broadcom, hot buttons etc. no other distro did that . I am trying alot!
I am not and will not be a fan of rpm distro's too much rpm dependecy hell in the past . As far as a everyday desktop for me the only thing holding me to MS enslavement is gaming . For what I use my comp for other than stated Linux working just fine.
Well um no that would be illegal or something ! ;} BUT I have been read on various sites it is truely out in stock and hacked versions . It has been patched to run on AMD 64 and native on non specific hardware . As I said if I can find more time in a day I'd try it . Screenshots on others hardware look good .
P.S. Sorry you have such a dim view of Linspire but I feel the same way about other distro's in time lost
