The guy is bringing it to me this evening at 19h. It is sure I will make you a review (camera is charging right now), but, as you see, my english is not that good. If I make a complete draft, will you be able to make a quick correction ?
absolutely i can make any corrections you want, just send it over PM (without pics of course) and i will make sure its perfect. as for your english it is not that bad actually, i meet people who only speak english at work and some of them are worse at it than you are.

First Impression

I am going in vacations tonight... without the M60. I will come back on the 6 of september, and will start to write my review. But I just wanted to give you my first impression about it.

It looks really nice, way nicer than the pics on internet.
Toshiba quality is not going downhill, it is well build and you can see they have worked on the details also.
The screen is gorgeous with the glossy finish. and it is 17'' !
The keyboard is strangely build. space, shift and are narrow. The arrows are very small and I do not think you could play games with these. But, it has a numpad, which was a requirement for me.
For overall performance, I did not played enough with it. I will do a lot of benchmarks. But keep in mind I am quitting an athlon tbird 900 desktop to a brand new laptop.

It is trully a beauty

So do I, and quite a few of us I think. I have noticed there are many canadians in the thoshiba forum. And many are students. Toshiba really seems to like Canada.
Have fun next week

Me too!

I am an Toshiba M60 owner as of last week. I'm pretty happy with it so far, a RAM and OS upgrade are in transit. What could be better then 512MB of ram? 1GB of RAM.

Congrats, but why would you say that most of us don't care? Oh and I have an M50, I'm from Canada and my wife is using it to go to college.

M.
i have used longhorn (now vista) and i liked it.... but that said he is likely going from xp home to xp pro.

also we need reviews.... come on people the m60 is a popular model and we need some more people talking about it.
can
i
have
it?

have what?
Mine's coming sometime this week, I wish there were more reviews on people talking about it though.
Got mine about 5 days ago, and I just love the beast.

By my last post, it sounds like mine is not too bad being the aussie version.

I must say, I wonder how many of these great machines are selling. Surely, with such a great screen, graphics capabilities etc... it kicks the sh&t out of Dell. I was reading on the dell forum, and they said that light leakage is normal for lcd screens (and I must admit, this scared me a little since this was my first laptop, and I had already ordered my m60), well let me tell you, from the photos of what I have seen of dell screen leakage, and a friends experience with it, I would for-go a dell any day, because my m60 does not leak hardly at all, I turned off every single light in the house, and it is like just not even there. So I must say, any dell fan boys reading this post, stop trying to make your self fell better by rubbishing every other laptop on the market, to justify a crappy screen defect.

Any gamers that have this laptop have any problems running games? Isn't the Nvidia 6600 GO supposed to be one of the best graphic cards for a notebook?
the 6600go is a good card, its not top of the heap but roughly one step below give or take depending on how you are measuring it.

personally i think the 6600go is a great card and it has alot of power, its not a 6800ultra or an x800 but it is up there and shouldnt have much trouble with anything out there (system ram is the issue for BF2... performance choke)
