For those who pre-ordered the z70va from ISTNC after August...

For those who pre-ordered the z70va from ISTNC after August 1...have you got any reply email from Rick?

This is starting to get a little suspicious.

I have not receive any email reply when I ask Rick the status of my order. It seems that he is avoiding replying because of the following which I theorize:

1. He ran out all the laptop from the 1st shipment and now waiting for the 2nd shipment. With all of the commotion that is going on, Asus may have delayed subsequent shipments to Rick to ease some of the tension from other resellers.

Of course this is just a theory. But if you got your credit card charged and got no respond email after multiple attempt to contact Rick....you tend to start thinking..."What the hell is going on and what kind of reseller/support will he provide me in the future."

It looks like I am starting another conspiracy theory....but I am just not happy now and I am sure there are many people in here who ordered after August 1 are still in the dark.

I too had trouble contacting Rick but he finally replied. He said he's still waiting for the second batch which would arrive later this week or early next week. He didn't make any guarentees but he said it should be in the building process sometime nextweek and will be shipped out either late next week or the following week. I don't have an answer as to why he's not replying to emails but you're not the only one, try contacting him thru aim or keep emailing him. Because he has our money I believe we have every right to find out exactly what's going on with our product. He did apologize for the late response and he said a refund is an option also with no penalty. I'm going to hang in there, I just hope this machine is worth the wait considering I returned my ferarri.

Relax Rick will not run with your lute. But your suspicions are warranted. Your not the only one.

Interesting, your cc got charged before an order was filled or shipped? That would sucks on the fact you are paying interest on something you don't have in your hand to use yet.

I'll vouch for Rick! Definitely drop him an IM or use the LivePerson thing on the site. For the most part he will reply to e-mails within 10 minutes. Having been in your shoes a few weeks ago, I strongly advise against cancelling....you can always cancel for a full refund with no restocking fee if you get bad news from him, but have faith and things will come through as expected. I actually ran into some e-mail trouble with Rick - maybe it was actually on his end and some e-mails are getting lost? That's definitely what happened to me, so I just sent him a message on AIM.

Everything that I've ever bought online worked in this manner. You pay the reseller - they send the product. It would be just as if a reseller was out of stock of a product - you pay for your product with the knowledge that you will get it when it arrives. In this case, there just happens to be no exact ETA on the 2nd shipment. Considering that the purchase made with full knowledge that there was no exact ship date, I don't think anyone has the right to complain here.

As far as not recieving email responses, I, too, sent a message over the "Live Person" service that IST uses. The first message was (for whatever reason) not replied to. When I emailed Rick personally a couple of days later he responded the next morning.

When he did reply (just a few days ago), Rick said that the units are "Waiting to clear customs". Since this took, what I surmise, the better part of a week on the first shipment, I imagine (just hope here) that these units will start going out next week.

Here's hoping they're not trying to smuggle anything in with our laptops and that we'll all see them soon

I am not angry because he charged my credit card. When I placed the pre-order, I knew that it will be charged immediately because I have read other posts from other members here who said that their credit card was charged.

What gets me angry is because I emailed him more than 5 times and got not a single reply back. I cannot AIM him or use any sort of instant message because I don't have a computer of my own now.

Also, I am not afraid that he will take off with my money for obvious reason.

Actually there's many places that won't charge until it's shipped. But as for ISTNC charging ahead of time for a pre-order, I believe he told everyone that would happen on this forum. That's why it was a debate months ago. Especially when no one knew when or if it would come out. He also had a cancellation fee, but on this forum he said there won't be. As for him avoiding people, I dont think anything's fishy- you guys paid for a "pre-order" and that's what you exactly got. You didnt pay for an advance shipment of it, you paid just to be on the list. Whether he gets his shipment in about 2 weeks like everyone else (hopefully) or 2 months from now, you'll get it... because you're on the list.

At lease he could have emailed me just 1 time and tell me this. My email does not have any blocking feature setup to block his email.

Hmmm, usually I get charged the day the item was shipped. I understand they put a hold on the amount, which is something different. But an actual charge is something different.

Some companies will put a hold on the amount for the item you purchased if they don't have it in stock. This will ensure your credit will pass when they do make the actual charge before shipping. However, puting an actual charge to the account is something else. That is posting to the CC the amount of purchase. With that, if the item let say is delayed or is pre-order over a month, you start to pay interest on that item w/o receiving that item.

The Panasonic Lumix camera set I got from BHPhoto.COM and recently a set of Hunter Douglas Blinds I ordered did the same thing. I ordered blinds from a 3rd party reseller, who put a hold on the amount to my CC. Once I received the tracking information is why I saw the post on my CC for the actual amount.

This is good knowledge heheh. If I did come across something like this, I might've and not notice it since i don't check my CC on small orders, only large order to ensure I wasn't double charged hehehe

Well, he does read this forum and reply to it when he feels like it. So maybe he will reply to this thread of yours.

I want to clarify what you just said. Are you saying that it is o.k. for him not to reply to my email?
I don't think it is right or courteous for him not to email a single reply. Why would he have posted his email address for other to contact him? It does not say anywhere near his email address such disclaimer such as "....if you are pre-ordering from me, then I have a right to ignore you...but if you are already a customer of mine and have already received the laptop, then I will respond to you and provide support."

Again, I don't really mind when the laptop will be shipped out because I know that he offers no guarantee and I know that it is beyond his control. Again...I am going back to my disgruntleness due to not being able to get a single email reply. At least tell me something...anything...even if "you may not get it until 2006."

No, he should reply to everyone, even if it was to say "I dont know when it's coming, but I'm sure its soon". If I was you, I'd take my money elsewhere. but I'm not you.

If you look at the posts that some people make to this thread, you see that there is some delay in his response. So there is some pattern to his responsiveness.

Keep in mind that I also tried to spread my email out about every other day to give him some time to respond.....but I get nothing at all.

I doubt it, I've seen many people saying the same thing. He hasn't replied to anyone on this forum except when they're bashing him. Anyways, you guys should know - if you're like number 200 on preorder list, he may just get an order of 50 on the first shipment. How many more shipments will it take until they get yours in, worked on, and then shipped out to you?

I'm already on someone else's list- I think I'm #2 or #3 on that one...and no, I didnt get charged to be on it. I didnt even have to give my CC numbers out.

InspectorGadget, try sending to a different address. If you've been sending to rick@istnc.com, try sales@istnc.com, or if you've been trying sales try rick. Or try support, or try orders.....you get the idea. I was having trouble receiving emails from one of his addresses but had no trouble getting them from another. Try that tomorrow during business hours.

his does, and he said at least one of my e-mails was blocked by it. I wonder if this is the problem with yours, also?

How about just calling the guy? Also, ask how far you are on the list. You should think twice about it.
It's like people running to EB Games or GameStop for the latest Sony PSP, who needs to be on a waiting list? I've seen crazy soccer moms hopping on a list a mile long. Even prepaying for it- how crazy is that? When it comes out, there are other places that you can get it, too ya know... Such as Walmart, Target, Costco, and even CompUSA (not a lot of people know they carry Console Games too).

I'm with you on pre-ordering video games. But the refresh isn't going to be as readily available in as many places when everybody finally has it, and most people probably figure they should pre-order with the place that at least has a stated ETA. Whether or not they get it before everyone else like the first batch here is anyone's guess.
