My wireless connection keeps on dropping!!!

Okay boys,

i have this Motorolla surfboard cable modem for a while, then i bought the 9300 and u know i had to go wireless!! Then i went out and bought this US robotics router that connects to my motorolla cable modem and goes wireless. But the internet connection keeps on dropping! Help what can i do to stop this connection madness!!!!!

Buy abetter router, or booster, or call your service provider to diagnose if your wireless fuction is working as it should.

Uninstall Intel Proset Wireless application and let Windows manage your connection.

And if all of those options dont work, try the Atheros Wifi, I got it a few weeks back, and its wonderful.

Honestly, after I uninstalled Proset and went with XP, I've had no connection problems.

Try setting up the wireless on different channel through the router settings. Cordless phones, cell phones, microwaves, low flying aircraft, asteroid showers, alien visits, etc, etc can interfere with particular channels.

Might also try different encryption methods. When I have my encryption off, I get a lot of drops, but in WPA/PSK mode I'm rock solid.

Yup, go XP. Also, once you have XP controlling it, make sure you set it up properly by going to device manager>wireless adapter>properties>Configure.

Read the bottom half of this page - especially about the SSID. It may help.
