Which card do you have? Have you tried updating the drivers? Do you have security on your network? Have you tried disabling it?

Call Alienware. Maybe there's problem with your card.

I have the same one and I always get an excellent connection.

Also, do you have any cordless phones near the router? They could be interfering.

Try disabling the power save features in the card. Sounds like the card is going into power save mode and coming immediately back out

Disabling the power save features in the card, very Good Ramrod, can be a solution.
Reload the latest driver and let windows handle the wireless card, try both ways to see if there’s a better signal range.
Or try Knowledge base Answer Id#4314 to twig the Intel Software which manage the wireless activity of your card, it's same software even though the card is different on the Article

If I had the Intel card in my sentia I would tell you. I installed an atheros card in mine and can easily disable it in the device manager. That would be the best place to start.

is the arthos card alot better?

I cant really compare since I didnt buy mine with the intel option. I know that I always have full signal anywhere in my house and around my yard and have not had any problems with it dropping for no reason.
