T23 LCD problem

Hi. I've got a T23 that went out of warranty TWO days ago. The bottom of the LCD screen is white. Its like there is a light at the bottom of the screen. if it gently press around the bottom it goes away but comes back when the pressure is removed. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have seen many thinkpads with the same problem and I have always returned them to IBM for service (I work at a help desk). But since I waited to get my personal notebook fixed, its now out of warranty and I am looking for a free way to fix it myself.
Thanks for your help and advice!

Is it light leakage? Like the white is stronger on some viewing angles than others, and is more visible on black than other colors? Well, my T23 is pretty similar.

Hi, Yes I guess you could call it light leakage. though its only on the bottom and its visible from almost every angle. maybe i will take it all apart and see if there is a way to angle it or something.
Thanks for your reply!

fixed! sorta

If anyone is interested, I took a small piece of a business card, folded it, and shoved it between the monitor and the thin metal strip along the bottom of the monitor. no more light leakage. it looks like new!
