New Laptop Driver Confusion

Thread Starter
Ok, ive been reading the forums for the best drivers and being new to the laptop scene im wondering the following things:

What are omega drivers?
What is the difference between them and the regular catalyst drivers from ati?
Why would our laptops take different drivers?

Also, if you can link me to the latest drivers for the things on a 5680, or just mention the name of them and their number, ill get them... My current setup is everything from the CD, stock, and ive been ittching to update and want to know which and what drivers work/work the best, thanks guys!
also i have the radeon mobility 9600 and running win xp pro with the intel 3 GHz ht and gig of memory, if that helps at all.

1. Stock ATI drivers that have been "tweaked" for better performance.
2. Same as 1. See www.omegacorner.com
3. Same as 1. They're stock drivers that are tweaked, like a stock car that has been souped up. It's still the same car, just modified a little.

If your 5680 is brand new and running satisfactorily, it's not necessary to update it right away. A lot of people do have an eternal quest for "better" performance, particularly in gaming and graphics. Browse the forums for info and experience, then start with Omegacorner if you want.
