acer ferrari 4005 broken touch pad ?

iv tried it in win32 win64 and linux and it doesnt want to work. all correct drivers installed. i noticed this problem just last week. before it would work flawlessly in everything, then it would only work sometimes. and now

not at all ?

has anyone had this problem or heard of this

control panel

check the control panel>mouse>device settings
(also make sure under "BUttons" synaptics pointing device is listed)
play around with these settings and make sure it's recognized and such

synaptics touchpad v5.9 on ps/2 port 3 regognized
and in device manager its fully regognized

?

Make sure you haven't pressed "Fn+F7" (which switches off the touchpad) - I did this once by mistake while muting the system, and mistakenly thought my touchpad was dead

well ill be dammed. thats what the problem was thats crazy didnt even know i could do that ........
