Does the v2000z have two user accessible memory slots or one????

One slot is under the keyboard and you are supposed to get it replaced by an HP specialist the other is on the bottom and you can place ram in that one without messing with the warrenty.

I bought the L2000 which is basicly the V2000z and I bought it with one one gig ram chip so that I could upgrade it without needing to go to an HP shop.

Uh, no. Both the slots are on the bottom of the notebook, no ned to go under the keyboard.

Yeah..And if you go under the keyboard yourself you void the warranty...

tofu is right - both memory slots on the v2000z are on the bottom of the laptop and can be easily found by unscrewing the screws. Just be careful which memory you purchase - it can be very picky. I've heard that PNY doesn't work well in it. Some Kingston and some KByte (those on sale at Best Buy) apparently work without a problem...

BIOS updates sometimes increase compatibility...
