Halo in my CD drive won't stop spinning!

It won't stop once I boot up. It just keeps going on at a moderate speed indefinately. It's driving me nuts. I think it started once I installed it and rebooted sometime later. Btw, I'm running an i9300 with Sony DW-65A (I think that's right) DVD burner (dual-layer, +/-RW).

I've patched Halo and everything, and even installed Custom Edition. No change.

Interesting; thx for the workaround link. I'm wondering if there's any explanation or solution to the problem, though, even though I plan to boot up from now on without the Halo CD in the drive.

Does it to me with warcraft3 Only after the machine comes out of hibernation or standby you could try holding the shift button when you insert the halo cd.
