Laptop Scratch!

There's a scratch on my brand new laptop...don't know how it got there! Actually, there's multiple ones. What can I do to make it less visible? It really bothers me! Thanks

600 grit sandpaper followed by polishing pad.

Already? I'm sorry, that sucks. Where are the scratches? On the screen?

if the lappy is indeed new, take some pics and email it to the company. get an RMA rollin'

Yeah, not even a week old ( The scratches are on the top when the lid's closed. You can't see them all the time...only in the sunlight or if you tilt it a certain way. Wonder if they'd exchange it for a new one? Haha yeah, probably not!

Just to clarify... Is it a Dell? You removed the protective clear plastic cover, yes?

well for a smoother finish start with 300grit, proceeded by 600 and then 1200...Then polish


Note: Does not work on all laptops!

What do you polish with?

Is it just regular sandpaper or wet?

I think that was like the edge, or something, and some paint came off.

I think she's talking about scratches on the lid's surface (behind the LCD screen). They'd probably be scratches in plastic, then.

And btw, she has an Acer Aspire 1612? from The Source, by Circuit City. They (Circuit City) bought over RadioShack Canada. And yes, that's CANADA, because she's in CANADA. There, I think I covered everything.
