AMD + HP zd8000...When???

Thread Starter
I´ve read that HP will offer AMD Processors on all their nootebook lines.

I plan to buy an zd8000 very soon (probably this November), but I would like an Athlon 64 instead of Intel's P4. I don't want to wait to much to order the laptop, but don't want to make a bad decision either.

So...Is it TRUE that HP will offer AMD Processors on ALL the notebook lines?
And WHEN? Does anyone have an idea? Is it going to be before December 2005? Please...help me! I really need to know.

They normally offer AMD/Intel CPU's for all lines... IIRC the AMD zd8000 was going to come out in October-November but dont quote me on that...

HP is NOT offering AMD/Intel CPU's for all lines right now. They only offer this:

Intel P4:
-zd8000

Intel Celeron M and Pentium M:
-dv4000
-dv1000

Intel Pentium M:
-ze2000t

Intel Celeron M:
-ze2000

AMD Athlon 64 and Sempron:
-zv6000

AMD Turion 64:
-ze2000z

But I've read that HP will offer AMD Processors on all their notebook series. That means that we will be able to buy an AMD version of the zd8000 (Right now you can only get an Intel Version).

So...Does anybody now when is this going to happen? Will it be before December?

Please tell me...What does IIRC means?

Sorry, IIRC = If I Remember Correctly

Yes HP WILL offer AMD/Intel Processors for all lines just like in the past... You Will be able to get an AMD version of the zd8000 the models should start out at like zd8400... I dont think a date has been set yet but i would say most likely before December. There was some speculation about this and most people thought it would be somewhere around October - November of 05... HP will let everyone know about 21 days before they start to ship...

Yes, hope they will. Maybe if they update the CPU to Athlon 64 they will update the GPU too. We'll see if that happens.

If you ask me, If they use an AMD CPU they will most likly use a Nivida GPU... Its what they have done in the past...

What's the difference between p4 and amd?
The P4 is made by Intel the AMD64 is made by AMD... The AMD cpu is better for gaming normally...
