Installing Laptop Legs. Will Void Warranty? Please Advise.

Please see the images below. Right now, I am just using scotch tape to see if the laptop legs actually work. They do! So now, I am thinking of peeling the adhesive and install the legs. The problem is, as with all adhesives, removals will probably leave some residue on the laptop, or worse, damage the laptop label. The instruction said that the legs can be removed by heating w/hair dryer and slowly peel away. I havent try this yet. I was wondering if installing the legs will void my warranty? Pat, please advise. Thanks!

I wouldn't think it would void the warranty. Maybe if you had to drill holes or something for installation it would, but not just for stick ons. By the way where did you get those? I would like to get a set myself to lift this AW beast up a little higher for better airflow.

I got them at my local CompUSA in the laptop cooler section.

The thing that worries me is because I have to stick one of the legs over that big label that came with the laptop.

If i get a confirmation from Hypersonic, I would definitely attach the legs to the laptop. It's been the best cooling method so far.

Fungo:

Go ahead and install the feet. It won't void your warranty. What would void it would be any kind of drilling like midnight said.

Thanks Pat. No drilling involved, just adhesives.

It looks like it, but $19.95 for a pair? I got mine for $10. For 4 legs, it's around $20. I only use 3 of them as the pic above shows. I cant use 4 legs since the lower right side of the laptop, where the GPU is, is slightly elevated.

How secure are they? Any change they might go down while you are typing?

Thanks.

Very secure. it WILL not go down while typing. I play games all the time, which requires quick tapping. It never go down. The legs are that sturdy.

But if you throw the laptop in a backpack or something, will they fall off if they get that kind of pressure?

No. The glue is pretty strong. I move my laptop around all the time. Trust me, the legs will never come off. But if you want to remove it, all you have to do is heat it up with a hair dryer, so said the manual. I have these legs for a few months now, and it's holding up very good.
