omg, u guys are more than terrorists.

Seriously, I doubt a FedEx driver is smart enough to know not to steal a computer off his own truck. I'm sure he just delivered it to the wrong address.

I understand your anger, but I think I'd cool off a little. The FBI isn't gonna care your computer was lost in transit.

This is FedEx's problem, and AW won't abandon you.

Happy to bring this update!!!

My wife and I took my 16 month old son to get his hair cut today. When we returned home we found two boxes waiting at our doorstep. Yep…one was black.

There was no note; nothing but the two boxes.

I looked them over closely and they appeared to be intact and not tampered with. My AW equipment had ARRIVED!!

A new theory was quickly developed by my wife. The boxes have green and white stickers that outline the rules for the Ground Contractor. Her theory is that the Ground Contractor (maybe not a FedEx employee at all) signed for the packages to make it look like it was delivered on-time, but for whatever reason, chose to make the actual delivery on Sunday afternoon, the following day.

So the criminal fraud is no longer true, I have received everything I paid for (FBI, thanks but you can stand down now) I’m only mildly disturbed at having $3500 worth of equipment just sitting unsecured on my front porch. This is a problem that FedEx better address.

Good to hear it ended good. What a horror story! I am not very fond of FedEx either.

You have to remember that FedEx ground service is outsourced to whatever local courier service you have where you live. They simply rent one of FedEx's trucks and do it that way. FedEx doesn't even have a way to contact drivers doing FedEx ground routes while the drivers are on the road. I had a similar mishap with my AW delivery, it was 2 days late (going from Miami, TO MIAMI, less than 5 miles away!). FedEx ground wrote down the address wrong on their giant label that they stick on the box, so they blamed it on "Delivery Exception - No Such Address". They then delivered it (all in thanks to my 20 phone calls to make sure the address was right) and I got a snapshot of the creepy FedEx guy. Anyways, glad you have your machine now.

very happy for you!

ok now get a knife, find that "ground contractor" and cut his hands off, or like SLURPEE suggested his fingers

Don't get me wrong, I am apeshit about Alienware (the rigs and the company) but I've heard of refurb jobs being sent out in such circumstances. And judging by your well-written rant, you are no dumbass and you'll probably figure out that you got conned if they try to send you a refurb and then your problems will commence in earnest... Or you might get your original computer that has been around the block so many times that it knows all the hookers by name, if you know what I mean! Why would you want a system that a complete stranger screwed with...? That is not part of the 200 point inspection process! Cancel your order and start over...
Actually that is half true. I have been working for Fedex for 5 years now, and we only subcontract for Home Delivery, not regular Fedex Ground. What I think happened is that Alienware put the wrong address or an address in the same neighborhood. But the driver should of asked for ID, he was probably just being lazy, sometimes you get drivers that don't give a shit.

I will bring it to the attention of my bosses. all electronics should be delivered with ID. Another theory is that the driver simply delivered it to the wrong address, and the person brought it back to your house.

I like Fedex, were i lived before UPS wouldnt bring things to my house, they would take them to the firehouse, samething with the mail... Well Fedex would bring my packages to me in a fedex van and all... Now that im in the city its not like that though...

Well whatever company you deal with, they all have some a-holes working there.

FedEx has always worked out for me, except the occasional driver that can't find our address to save his life...

I have received a lot of stuff from Fedex and I never once had to show my ID. They even let my GF sign for packages ( I am a guy so that the driver did not even think twice about delivering the pakage was les sthan disturbing). I have to say I never had a problem with Fedex, but not asking me for an ID is crazy.

On a side note i am glad to hear this story ends well! Now for that review of yours!!!

Yippee!!! I still hope FedEx stops using the independent contractor that messed up your delivery. Looks good - looking forward to reading your review.
