i might be wrong but i dont think pci-e will be a problem for you and audio..
all the incompatibilities ive seen are more tied with desktops in particular the nforce 4..
check out that guys website (adk pro audio) was mentioned couple threads up
do you know about the 2 hd things for daw setups?
pretty standard and well known but most people using protools cubase and programs like that use 2 hardrives... one to load os on other one for recording and playing back from.. or if its more production you do rather than recording than the second hardrive would serve as your sample streaming disk.
not a must have thing but it will either double your track count or double your polyphony from a software sampler
echo audio cards are great.. awesome company to deal with.. great products.. i know that first hand.. if your looking for something a step up check out the products at rme-audio.com
or for something a step down (maybe a little cheaper) maudio soundcards are worth looking at..
i use a rme hammerfall in my desktop and still checking out my mobile options (same boat as u)..
i will probably get a novation x-station 49 for giging...
for me a laptop and a midi keyboard that has soundcard built in with mic preamps... all in one solution that can fit in one backpack and come with me inside the plane... perfect
ableton live? or something else?
