The hurricane looks pretty vicious. Is it coming to your area? Are you leaving town? Is your laptop battery fully charged?

I'm gonna be affected and I'm a couple hundred miles from the eye. A tornado watch due to Katrina is only about 50 miles away from me.

Hopefully the hurricane won't be as bad as the "experts" predict and the Superdome can withstand it. 20-30,000 people are expected to go there for safety.

There is no way that this is going to be a small hurricane at this point. The Superdome supposedly can withstand 200mph winds, but the shifting winds are going to be the main problem, esp if the eyewall goes directly over it.

I was watching the news earlier and they said that several oil refineries may be hit. Thus gas prices could go even higher this week.

Nah, seriously I hope everyone has heard or noticed it in time to prepare. Don't want to be caught in a blitzkrieg of rain, hail, tornadic wind smacks, debries and all that 'big' stuff...

I'm on the florida panhandle, so far so good, waiting for the stuff to come up on land N.O. is so screwed water is going to raise above the city, just wait for the chopper cams...
