Disappointed with Dell already :(

So I just put in my order for an X1, and received the email confirmation for it - except the price they charged my credit card is not the same as what we had agreed on! I'm not really sure what to think of this, other than it being a huge inconvenience. Hopefully if I have problems in the future, they won't waste my time like this. Has anyone else had problems like this before?

care to say what you agree on and what they charged?

Meh, thats what they did to me. The total price with everything came out to 1376ish and then the price rose by 5 bucks...I have no idea why.

Mine went up by $150 . But they fixed it, so it's all good now! I was just really surprised when I got that email.

I made my order on the 26th of July. Due to a problem with a credit card (address didn't match, bank's fault) coupled with the incompetence of a customer service rep, there were two weeks of delays. After I got the rep to redo the order with another credit card, she informed me that she'd call if there were any problems after I bugged her the next day.

Two weeks later, I couldn't get any status updates about the order from anyone, the behind the desk people told me info I already knew, no one called and the order was simply taking too long. I tried calling the rep, but she wasn't in the office, probably ON VACATION!

Took my father's contact to fix the damn problem, and now its August 28th, and I won't see the laptop until September. Very infuriating and I wish I had a manager I could flush my anger and frustration at.

Just horrible. So agreed, I'm a little disappointed with the people Dell has employed. You think for $2000 they'd at least try and give you a little service.

Yo' have you thought about re-ordering?
Well, in my case, it has been reordered, which is why it will take till September for me to see it. It was reordered on the 25th by my Dad's contact at Dell.

Oh, and I got a free DVD burner for the trouble...huzzah

The same thing happened to me!

My Order Acknowledgement was calculated wrong to begin with (the numbers just don't add up) and my Order Confirmation is about $50 higher than the Acknowledgement.

They also charged me for 1 Dell Education Services - PC Package 100+ Courses and Live Online Tutor - 90 days access. There is no WAY IN HELL I ordered that!!

Anyone know who to talk to about this? I e-mailed a CSR and she gave me this ridiculous price breakdown to backup whatever theyre charging me. I refuse to look at that because that's not the numbers I saw in my cart when I checked out.

I always take these issues to my credit card company. They're pretty quick about dealing with vendors that charge more than the agreed upon price. Part of the legalese on any receipt is that you agree to pay your credit card company the shown price, not any price that pops up after the vendor has had some time to fudge the numbers. Hopefully you printed off or kept the web page numbers and can submit those with the order confirmation to show the difference.

I ddin't print the page with my exact system on it, but I did print the web page numbers for a similar system from the same day (the prices where the same). Seriosly though, this kidn of thing should be rectified easily by the CSRs. Shouldn't have to take a call to the CC Co.

Okay all is well now. They've given me credit for the difference and that Dell Education or whatever the heck that is.
