FOR SALE: 4 month old 8887...

Thread Starter
Hey all. I'm thinking about selling my 8887 that I bought in late July. I really have no complaints except that it is simply too heavy to carry around with me, which is what I really need at school. Other than that it is everything I ever needed in a laptop or a computer. Here are the specs:

3.06ghz
1 gig of ram
16.1 UGXA screen
128mb ATI 9000 mobility
8x DVD-rom/24x10x24 CDRW Combo Drive
60 gig HD

Condition:
Practically mint condition except for the keyboard which is slightly worn on the space-bar. Clean problem history.

Price:
$2000, negotiable

If you are interested I can get you pics by next week. E-mail me at: corndj@muohio.edu

Thanks.

I think you need to look at what it costs to get a similarly equiped, brand new 8890. With the 60G, 7200 drive, its a much better, brand new machine for only $600 more. Maybe $700 with shipping.

Sorry to say man, but like cars, once you drive it off the lot, there is a massive initial depreciation. Look on E-Bay for similar machines and see what they are going for.

Yeah, I'd say ask for $1500 or so... TOPS.

I did take my own advice and see what's on Ebay, they have what look like 8890s for around $3300 or so. Why would anyone buy that instead of going to PCT and spending less? Oh EBayers, anything for the excitement.

For one thing, not everyone knows about PCTorque. In fact, very few people I know have known anything at ALL about Sager or PC Torque until I showed them the site.

Most of them are slow to adapt too, becauset he prices make them think otherwise, heh.

What you say Jeffl is ever so true. I don't get it, they've had a big multipage add, sometimes a couple of them, in Computer Shopper for the last 10 years. Are folks blind or something? Guess they must be.

Or how about Google?
