planning on i9300 purchase.. please help with cpu

Hi. I'm looking at a 9300 for work and gaming. For work purposes i'm only looking at some photo editing software, some statistical analysis and the usual ms office stuff. I figure the 740 processor is fine. but would i notice a difference in gaming between the 740 and 750 with the 6800go for CS:S doom3 etc? pricing out the 740 comes out to about $250 cheaper than the 750.

suggestions would be appreciated.

save yourself the money. It is definitely not worth $250.

Any difference when it comes to games would not be noticable. Definately, save the money and use it for a memory upgrade from Newegg ect. Also, welcome to the forums.

Thanks for the help/advice guys. I just cancelled my order (originally for the 750). With a $150.00 discount (Canadian) and the 740 i'll save about $400 if I purchase online.

Yah, the CPU upgrade means jack in games. I think the performance difference between a 1.6 and a 2.0 is 10% in games, at the most.

You're going to love your new computer.
