I'm sitting in my living room right now and my kids have taken over the TV, no big loss. I always have my lappy on and surf or play battlefield II.

Well I'm glad there are people as addicted to their laptop as me.

Better yet, Netstumbler picked up a plethora of unsecured WiFi access points! Woo hoo!

Damn, she didn't do her class so I only got about 4 minutes of up time.

We're at the resort now, and since the wife's father owns it, there are a few perks.... (Besides not paying) Like being able to get a key to the office and wire in our WiFi router. The office is a line of site shot of about 100 meters and the signal is perfect. It took a little tweaking to get the router to work with their ISP. (Oh no! They use MAC filtering! What ever will I do???? CLONE.)

I'll be here for about a week and a half: 70% will probably be here in front of the laptop.

BTW, this is where we are. Gotta find an underwater housing for the XPS and a ULF adapter for the Wifi so I can take it diving. :-)

My TV watching has greatly suffered, not that there is much to watch anyway.

Looky, looky...I was just thinking about my 9300 in such a loving way. I've gotten into the habit of bringing it to work with me on Friday's which pretty much makes Friday afternoons a blast playing FEAR or FArCry with work buddies. Other than gaming, I'm always tweaking. I use my laptop for mobile audio recording so I'm constantly optimizing the user interface or something.

Like this week I've been fooling around with increased screen resolutions from the Nvidia card. My desktop is now twice as high and twice as wide when I'm using my recording software. I can see all my tracks plus the full mixer plus a bunch of plugins with simple pan around the screen with the mouse. That's just beautiful.

Before that I updated my video driver to 81.94 and OC'd it using RHDRIBL, bla bla bla. It seems that I'm always doing something different or tweaking this and that.

I love it. With my Litestep and wallpaper configuration it's complete eyecandy.

So...yes...I'm addicted...I love it...you can't make me stop.

And I do use that whole "atleast it's not time spent in a bar or strip club" line with my wife. She agrees.

I confess, I work nights and the wifey ain't home when I go to bed in the morning. I pull the lapper out of the backpack, check my email and then lay the lapper on my wife's side of the bed and go to sleep. Yes, I sleep with my laptop...I'm so ashamed...

In 2002 I quit my job and embarked on a three month offroad motorcycle camping trip. As you can see by the picture, I only took the things I absolutely couldn't live without.

This photo was taken ~10 miles from Groom Lake, Nevada. (Area 51) As soon as it got dark at night, the jets would start roaring around. Sonic booms for almost 4 hours straight! Of course they fly without any lights on, so the 3rd Gen+ night vision goggles came in handy.
