problem uprading drivers

post #1 of 5
Thread Starter
Since I first got my laptop I've had the same problem over and over again with installing new vid drivers. When I try to install them I get the following error message:

INF error
video driver not found

I'm trying to install the latest omega drivers for my radeon 9000. I'm hoping this will give me better support of DX9.1

Any help. This is my first laptop and for some reason I'm having much more trouble with it than my desktops.

I had the same problem

go to Control Panel --> System --> Hardware -->Devices

Graphics Adapters --> Install Driver

look for driver in Omega folder
it should be C:\Program Files\Radeon Omega\2kxp_inf

and choose cx_rad_omega.inf if you have Windows XP
or c2_rad_omega.inf for W2000

Video Driver Prob

You can head on over to DriverHeaven.net and download the Mobility Modder. With this, you can install the newest Catalyst drivers from ATI. Remember that once you Mod the drivers, you will also be able to install the control panel which will give you loads of options.
