since i bought my 4780 less than 2 years ago, iv had the LCD replaced (flickering problem) and the hard drive replaced. the HDD light would get stuck on and the computer would go extreemly slow. I tried reformating and it wouldnt even re-install windows due to the hard drive.

but anyway they replaced it. Now less than a year later, (mabye 6-7 months). the HDD is doing the exact same thing. I contacted sager about it and they would do nothing about it because the warenty was expired. Now im starting school in a week and have no computer to use. I cant say ill ever do business with sager ever again.

since their customer support sucks, im forced to spend more money on a new hard drive. can anyone tell me where i can find one? i have a 4780

I put in a 100G seagate I picked up at best buy. $120 but it's less on line. It's worked fine for me. Faster, bigger and runs cooler than the old drive that was in it.

Did you put that in a 4780, and if so, what is the exact model. I found a place that sells laptop parts for very cheap. On average I was finding HDDs for about $120 and up, even the direct replacement, but at this place I could by the same drive for $80 shipping included... My HDD finally took a poop after a few weeks of suspiction. FUnny thing was that it didn't detect a failure until it was pretty much dead? Whats the point, LOL!?

I am an idiot, all this time I have been looking for a 1.8" drive thinking that my stock HDD2190 was a 1.8". It's a 2.5", LOL, what an aching crack! This opens up a whole new world of HDD's.... Still would like to know what the model # is on that!

I've had the wonderful experience of dealing with getting a new HDD from Sager also... I RMAd a drive about a month ago, and they sent me back a used drive with stuff on it. I emailed them saying I was very disappoined, the drive was obviously used (Had a Kathy Chang's files on it) and it was already showing SMART Errors. Now, 25 days later, the drive failed. I have 7 days left on my warranty, so I'm not letting Sager get out of this. I'm not going to give them a break until they send me a drive that looks acceptably stable t ome.

Sager is a crappy company with crappy equipment. I wish I only knew this before I became a wholesaler for them. I bought two NP4750s from them and one had a mother board go 16 months after I bought it. They have fundamental design problems that they will not admit. I'm a wholesaler for Sager and they won't help me out. I've lost tons of money returning things to them because of their crappy hardware. I will never do business with them again. They do not fix the problems and if they do, they do a half ass job of fixing the issue. So then you have to return the computer within 6 months to get it fixed again!

They don't care about their rep either. After getting no where with them for many months, I have threaten to trash them on here. "They don't care." Do not buy a single thing from this evil company.
