here is my *problem*
I have a TM2700, with the following config: Ati IGP radeon 9000, 2x256MB RAM, P4@2.8 GHz, Toshiba HDD@40GB, Matshita UJDA760 combo drive. The BIOS is a Phoenix, v1.09.
After few days, while I left the PC in hibernate state, when I first booted, the BIOS detected wrongly the combo drive; here it is what in the summary screan appears:
ATAPI Model Name: ]JLA?68 LVL/KDZW(((((-(SM)
ATAPI Serial Number: ((((((((((
Everything else is OK in the BIOS.
I also know that the HDD is connected as primary master, and the combo is secondary master.
Because of this, windows (XP pro) says Error10: the device cannot start. So no CD drive.
I tryed *restarts
*load bios defaults
*enabling/disabling hibernate + restarts
*removing the power plug (no battery) -- this worked a time, or two.
But now, I lost it again (after using hibernate -- or at least that is the connection I found)!
I am pretty sure that the problem is with the Matshita drive, because something similar happened before, with a Mathshita DVD drive, on another PC. Removing the drive, rebooting, and replugging worked then, but it was a normal workstation, and I had enough BIOS setting available.
So, can anyone help? Any ideeas? Someone else found this problem too?
Oh, and a BIOS reset (jumper, bios battery remove, or something like that) would help? And details about removing the back plates, etc.
Please help!!
Thank you!
