I purchased this Nook Color specifically because I was taking a very long trip to China and wanted to be able to read without carrying a ton of books. I also liked that it had email capability...
This is an awesome mouse with an excellent grip for a mid sized to large size hand. Right-handed, comfortable, trendy, upscale, red, responsive, functional, task oriented.
Overall A+++
Fantastic had this machine 6 months and can honestly say have had no bother with it. Plays games better than most desktops and keeps up with the rest which is outstanding for a...
I made a mistake when I ordered my laptop, and thought I ordered the 100gb model, but didnt. How much slower will this one be compared to the 7200rpm 60gb, and the 100gb 5400rpm. Im afraid that the 2mb cache will affect perfomance
If your looking purely at subjective performance, you probably won't notice much of a difference in real world terms. Your laptop will take a little longer to boot or apps may take a few extra seconds to launch, but nothing that should take away from the performance. Enjoy!
I think I read that 7200 rpm 60 gb will have faster write times while the 100 gb 5400 will have faster access time.
EDIT: not sure if the 2mb would affect the speed greatly.
You've got it backwards.
And what makes you think the laptop you ordered will have an 80GB drive with only 2mb cache? I ordered an XPS 2 just last week with an 80 gig drive and its a Samsung SpinPoint MP0804H which has 8mb cache.

Well, I clicked the details link when I was configuring the 9300, and it listed two 80gb versions. One has a 2mb cache, and the other has a 8mb. I hope that I will get the one w/ an 8mb cache, but I have a feeling it will be 2
Yeah, 2gb of cache is very low for notebook drives, nowadays; some Toshiba drives even have 16mb of cache. Anyways, the BURST SPEED (that is, reading small files) will be faster on the 7200RPM drive due to the faster spindle; however, average read speed (reading larger files) will benefit fromm the 5400RPM 100gb drive due to increased density. There's another great thread about this. As for an 80gb drive, I have no idea... the 7200 will probably be a more feasible choice in that case, but I'm only speaking my opinion on that.

actually, they perform about the same, the 5400 compard to the 7200, and the 5400 is quieter, more reliable,, see tom's hardware guide for info and test results on these drives, you wont notice a difference like you would in a desktop hard drive.
Rule #1: Never rely on THG for any kind of advice or research
I doubt you'll get a 2MB cache version, hell, almost all desktop HDD's are 8MB now, I would worry. The worst that happens is you send it back and get another.

come on guys quit wasting thread space with these silly ass questions that merely require you to do some homework. check any of the major review sites on the web and find all the benchmarks on anything you want!!
tomshardware.com has lots of info on your question, check them out, then post us the answer to your question please.

you two completely contradict each other, can I get a second opinion? Also benchmarks usually dont translate to real-world tests when it comes to hard drives
I have the Toshiba Toshiba mk8026gax in my XPSGen2 and the specs read that it has a 16mb buffer. It's not quite as fast as my 120gb WD7200, but the difference is negligible.
tom's hardware does shoddy reviews. I've given up going to their site, most of it is biased information arrived at from poor testing methods. Like I said though, I doubt you'll get a drive with a 2MB cache.
