M5N/Z33a/S5A screen not 16M colours?

I heard that the screens of these laptops can't display 16 million colours.... is this true? Or is it due to the fact that the screen is not set at 32-bit in the default factory settings?

My M5N is displaying at 32-bit just fine, might be just not set on arrival.

I think you heard that old misconception/rumor/misinformation that floats around. There are threads on this somewhere, but the thing is that no notebook lcd screens (that i know of) can actually display millions of true colors, instead they use blending to create the colors. This is true for 90% (rough guess) of regular LCD's also. Only the high end ones have LCD's with that many true colors. It comes down to a marketing thing, while other manufacturer's just say "16 million colors, etc" on their spec sheet, Asus goes with the (what was it, 256,000?) that the screen actually displays. Once again, these screens are not inferior, it's just in the way the companies represent them, we'll just say asus is honest (or they have a bad marketing dept...).
