New Intel driver is working really well for me. Comes on very quickly after standby.

when i first got my xps the 2915 was fine... but for the last 6 weeks or so it usually wouldn't even connect, had to use RJ-45... now i've got it working so i'm not changin' a damn thing lol most of the people i heard complainin' about the 2915 were talkin' about conn speed, etc. but at least they had a conn... i've been lookin' at the Atheros mini pci card but i've seen posts about probs with that too... it's been one of the few things that really suck with the 93000/xps (the touchpad is lousy too and the firewire is only 400)... it would be great if it would solve the probs... let us all hope and pray that it does... |

I'm starting to think that the wifi light going off are cause buy the new Dell bios , A04. Anyways to each there own solution but intel drivers always worked perfectly for me and s far the newest one 9.0.2.11/9.0.2.31 are working perfectly and my light didn't go off yet. |
I see alot of people do this with their video cards, end up driver updating a driver that wasnt for the laptop card but for a desktop one, big mistake. Im sure the Intel drivers would be pretty safe and stable though in the case of the wireless card since this is a laptop part to begin with.|

Ive played with alot of touchpads, I like the 9300's touchpad compared to many out there from HP, Sony and Toshiba, not quite as nice as IBM's thinkpad though. A wireless notebook mouse works wonders, check em out!!

Now, however, I get better signal throughout the house. Before I use to idle on the desktop at 36Mbps across the house downstairs at my desk, now it's at 48Mbps. Also, when talking on my 2.4Ghz wireless phone, rate would drop to 11Mbps, but now it sometimes stays at 24Mbps, definitely some improvement. I never had dropped connections before, and there still are none, so all looks good.

To unistall the driver, i go under the "Device manager > network adapters > Intel prowireless 2915abg net connection". Is that right? Sorry about my noobness but i don't understand computers that well.
