i tryed that and i tryed speed fan but speed fan always says it is 10c cooler that that mobile meter. mobile meter =60c and speedfan=50c so i dont know withc to belive .

i also have a question about the fan it comes on but is not noisey and does not seem to blow air out of laptop verry hard is this normal or should the air becoming out the sid verry fast

I think mobilemeter is right because my cpu is at idle 81C and when playing games over 100C and then it crashes. And what I have learned is that Pentium M crashes at around 100C - so I guess that mobilemeter is right on the money

just found this new program called Centrino Hardware Control you can use it to change fan speeds and read temp ..

skruer what laptop do you have nad how long have you had it

I would trust Speedfan more than many other programmes, but you need to make sure you have worked out which of the temps it shows are for your CPU.
If your temps are that high though, you need to get something checked out! Even at 90c your CPU life is going to be extremely short. For every 10c you can take off your under load temps, you will DOUBLE the life of your CPU (a rough estimate, but significant). The core of an Athlon is supposed to fail at 90c, and I doubt that the Pentium M is much more resistant than that....

I would not. On my TM8104 it constantly showed 30 degrees which is absolutely false. MobileMeter though seems to be really good at properly measuring temperature.

Whether or not SpeedFan can be trusted depends on which system you have. SpeedFan can monitor several different temperatures (e.g., CPU core, CPU die, CPU Heatsink). I think the temperature that mobile meter reports is the "worst case" temperature - which is the one used for automatic system shutdown (e.g., if the system reaches 90C it throttles down and if it hits 100C it shuts down.) The other temperature may be the one on the Heatsink.

On the Ferrari 4005 I cannot get a reading of the CPU temperature using SpeedFan - only MobileMeter reports actural temperature increases - speedfan reports 28C no matter what. I do hope that there will be a speedfan update soon - It would be nice to be able to control the somewhat noisy ferrari fan.
