that's a lot of exclamation points.

glad you had a good experience with the Dell service. I would probably not guarantee anything in writing though.

A ringing endorsement indeed.

Glad you had a good experience with Dell. Hopefully I will too if I ever send in my 9300.

What a joke.... If they cant fix it, they HAVE to replace it. It's their responsibility. And to me it don't sound that great they send it back to you broken the first time...

But sure, I would be happy too after what I heard about Dell...

It's always nice to see some one so happy about their purchase though!

BTW, you say "Always Go With Dell...i Will Refund Ur Money If U Regret It!!!!!". But, how do I install Windows XP x64 Pro on a Dell notebook? And, how do I run Far Cry 64 bit extended version, or anthing 64 bit at all for that matter? I'm sorry but if I went with Dell, yes you WOULD refund me...

I'm just surprised to hear about Dell doing a no-hassle replacement. I've been reading how Dell's customer support has gone WAY down in the past couple years. Hoping that's not true because I want to eventually try to trade in my 2005FPW for a 2005FPW A02/03.

Too bad I ordered a lappy with them, and my order doesn't exist. However, my account still says I owe them. Odd.

never had to deal with their lappy/desky support, but when my Axim BT keyboard went out, got a fresh one in 3 days, shipped my old one back and never got billed. problem solved.

Gotta agree with Ramificatio here. There was a problem with your laptop. They came out twice and failed to fix it. They absolutely SHOULD replace the whole system at that point as, clearly, something was seriously flawed. I'm happy you are happy, enough to bandy about the exclamation points. However, I don't see anything spectacular about the service your received, not even by a longshot.

Biggest problem I see is the fact they tried to fix it, TWICE, and were still unable to, and this was within the first 2 weeks after purchasing the item.. makes me curious about their quality control and technician competence.

Also, retail gives so much less hassle, if you're within their posted return period.

I was going to buy a Dell, but after reading this post I just can't be in the same boat you are in...

ohhh.. almost forgot...

I had a really good experience as well. 2 weeks before my warranty was up with them I noticed my case had some small hairline cracks in it and my touchpad had significant wear. I called them up and complained about it and they had me send it in and they replaced the entire case and touchpad and had it back to me in 5 bus days from the time I shipped it (overnight shipping on their dime). They also appologized for having me ship it to them even though I had at home service--they said they needed to do that type of repair only at their depot. Oh and this phone conversation regarding this repair took place with a live person at 2am EST on a saturday. Beat that!
Let's see, 2AM EST on a Saturday would make for about...hmm, 5PM Sunday in Chennai India with the person you were likely speaking with. Sure, it's Sunday, but at the cost of such a customer service rep, a lil overtime won't break Dell's bank.

Can I have $1408.85?
Are you guys crazy? No company is responsible for fixing a laptop just because it had to be sent in for repairs 2 times. 3-4 times is when they usually start thinking about it. Even that doesn't mean they will do it. Of course, when I say 3-4 times, I mean for the same problem.

Any company of any consequence or, for that matter, conscience, will replace a laptop in it's entirety if several attempts to fix it failed. This is not somehow a service exclusive to Dell.

Also, I should point out that there are now lemon laws that apply to laptops and I would hazard to say that after a couple attempts to correct an issue, those laws might well come into affect.

Yes, all companies will replace a system if the problems occur many times, but no company would replace it after just 1 attempt to fix it. I believe the OP has the right to be happy about the service he received.
