what are you, a cat?

it can support your weight exactly once. after that, it won't work, but will continue to support your weight and make a nice paperweight.

if it was UL certified you could sleep on it

(i think it's UL certification that requires desktops to be able to support a person's weight anyway...)

Who in their right mind would want to sleep on a laptop? This question itself is ridiculous.

It might make for a very warm pillow. You never know.

Yeah... it's best to sleep with her and not my laptop. Sure I'm not hardcore for having not slept with my laptop over my gf.... so sue me.

I've recently taken to carrying my laptop around in my backpack with 7 law textbooks between it an my back. I've also set it down on the laptop side before, thus having 7 law books on top of it. It's an ASUS though and made of carbon fiber, I wouldn't try the same with a Dell.

I had sort of resigned myself to believing it was cuz he used the system in bed and was afraid he might fall asleep and roll over it. That might have just been a defense mechanism to protect my fragile sensibilities, however.

Wasn't there that Virtual Valerie game a bunch of years ago? That could be the reason he wants to "sleep" with it.

I sleep in my room with two computers (one DYI PC, one Mac), a Powerbook, my game consoles, my sword collection, not to mention my TV, VCR, DVD and 5.1 home theater system. Gets pretty wild at times.....
