New NVIDIA Drivers 78.01

Don't get too excited though as NVIDIA says:

ForceWare 78.01 adds support for GeForce 6500 only. There are no additional driver updates in 78.01 since 77.77.

Oh well!

IF you are driver updating at the nvidia website, you might be looking at desktop card updates and not for the nvidia GO cards, be careful.

If you want 78.01 drivers for your notebook go HERE & install the INF file with the 78.01 files & your ready to go. You might want to wait on the 78.03 drivers- people are reporting problems with that inf. combo The 78.01 have the best IQ I've seen on this XPS2!

You can manualy install the 78.03 if you want. That's what I did 78.03 have nice IQ & GTA SA looks great.

I've used both drivers on the 6800 ultra- I like the 78.03 better, a little faster but both have good IQ

I tried to download and install the 78.01 drivers for the 6800 and it reverted me when i restarted to the 72.01 drivers... I did this by updating the driver in the hardware profile manually by selecting the folder and not using the 'setup.exe' file in the downloaded folder because when i use it it says the hardware for the drivers cannot be found. Whats the deal?

Did you download & change the INF file in the drivers that you want to install? You have to do this in order for them to work on laptops

Some change in the Go 6800 core/mem speed.

The default dell driver during the non-gaming speed, it was 10Mhz/5Mhz.
After i apply the newest driver, it shows 245Mhz/250Mhz.

Was the default driver has the power and speed management custom modded by Dell?

Yeah I downloaded the one off the site posted previously, but it seemed to be the same one that was included with the 78.01 file. If I download it separatly should i just replace the one in the folder with the one i dl separatly from the site? and should I use the new driver wizard and choose from the folder or use the installer wizard? (sorry kinda ignorant about driver installation)
