It's a new IBM Hitachi Travelstar 5k60. I took it out of my new Gateway M675 and replaced it with a Travelstar 7k60 (7200RPM). Has maybe 3 total hours of use on it.
I'm about to put it on eBay, but if you want it let me know.
sp0rk - I don't believe that there is a Hitachi model no 5K60. Is it a 5K80 (60GB)?
sid21177 - If sp0rk's drive is a Hitachi 60GB 5K80, it is the best 60GB 5400 drive currently available. The 7K60 is slightly faster and has some newer/better technology making it the best notebook drive currently available. I have both a 5K80 (40GB) and a 7K60 raid setup. If I did it over, I would probably replace the 5K80 with the 7K60 - slightly less vibration, etc. But, if sp0rk gives you a decent price for the 5K80, go for it. The 5K80 series is Hitachi's latest 5400 series and they are great drives. Both have 8MB caches, max media transfer: 5K80=450,000Mbits/sec; 7K60=513,000MBits/sec - media transfer rate has significance if you are reading or writing lots of data.
