The bottom part that houses the 2 speakers.. makes it look so much bigger than all the other laptops

having such a hard time to decide if i want brawns (z70va) or the beauty(w3v)

Justin from ProPortable said that the M6 (Z70) series notebooks aren't low profile so Asus can choose to either include a standard ratio or widescreen, depending on where they're selling the notebooks.

its certainly a bit taller.. about 1 inch?

found this one google (sorry can't resize it since its on some one elses page).. a w1n in front of an M6

Isn't that a W1? As for the size, yes it's a bit on the big side, but I assure you the sound is pretty good coming out on all 4 speakers. The size was only thing I considered a problem when I opened the box, but now I'm ok with it all.

thanks for the pic Cowman.
from that pic, the z70va looks as if the ratio of the screen is higher than the usual? its not as wide but taller?

man this decision is driving me nuts..
just recently saw the HP business model :http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=84360

magnesium alloy case, x600, trackpointer, 14x10.4x1.1 almost like a thinkpad

now its either this one, w3v or z70va

IMHO, the z70v series are the best looking notebooks out there.

I think it should be said that, while the screen isn't flush with the bottom of the LCD casing, it's not like its some kind of massive space. I mean, it looks great as-is, and it doesn't look abormally large at all.
