Battlefield 2 - Page 2

I too have been playing BF2. Sounds like i'm not nearly as good as most on this thread. I have real trouble flying any of the helo's, what is this joystick i am reading about? Does it work for the whole game or just the helo's? I mostly like to play in 16 maps for the close combat, love to snipe and play spec ops. It seems that on some servers, my opponets are wear body armor or have souped up weapons, because it will take me several hits to kill them, but they waste me in just a hit or two. Is there some hacks out there that do that, but still allow you to play on most servers. Also, whats the advantage of joining a clan? Does it make your teamplay better, because you play with the same guys, and work as a unit. Is there anyway to look for your friends online to see what sever they are currently playing at? Those i just a few questions i have.

I love the game though, even if i never figure out how to fly the helo. Can't wait till i can afford another gig or ram and a graphics card upgrade. Look for me, one the small maps for now, AlaskaSniper or FrozenRanger.

Ohhh, one last thing. How do you guys get that cool thing that tells you your stats. I keep looking on main menu of the game and can't seem to find it. Is it an independant stat tracker?

In your game settings, there is a checkbox for inverting your mouse. It might help you fly better. Joysticks are excellent for flyng but they take practice to become perfect. The joystick requires constant action and reaction to control a helos flight.

If you notice you are getting killed fast, its probably because the other player is a good shot. The most accurate position for shooting is laying on the ground. You might be seeing your opponent hit the ground just before your lights go out. check your game settings and write down your keybindings if that will help.

This new sR-> clan is being formed as a competative unit. But the most important thing about this is to get all of us that use this forum together on the same map. A lot of us use this forum everyday and would like an opportunity to get on the same Battlefield. When the new StrafeRight server is back online its going to be there for us to get together. Later on, a competative force will be formed But the server will still be able to be used by all of us. A lot of people don't have the time to be in the game Every night. Even if you dont really have time you can become part of the new StrafeRight gaming. Its here for when you have the time. You will have a good server to be on with people that you are familiar with from this forum. note: this is a 64 player server.

I created an sR-> 'clan' at bf2tracker. If you join at bf2tracker and sign up for the sR-> clan all of your game stats will be combined to form the sR-> stats. You still keep your own stats but it shows how well we are as a group. You can learn more about that Here. That is where you can get your stats tracker.

spec-ops has no body armor, this is why you may not survive many gunbattles with assualt classes.

there are some "wall hacks" which punkbuster hasn't discovered yet. this simply allows people to see or shoot through walls. if you think someone on a server is cheating, the best thing to do is to leave... find another server.

playing in a clan, or a group of people who play "teamwork" will greatly change your experience in this game. i play on a server where EVERYONE joins a squad, they all listen to the commander, squad leaders etc. It's much more fun (for me) to play with other people who are playing for the teamwork aspect.

CO: "Squad 3, enemy APC incoming North of your position"
SquadLeader3: "Roger, commander"
SL3 to squad: "Ok guys we have an APC incoming from the north. Let's c4 the gates, and get those AT rockets in the buildings above. When the APC rolls in, let's all hit it at the same time"... etc

that's a hell of a lot better than:

"WTF am I doing? Why did my OWN teammate just fly off in that empty helicopter?"

Yes I know what you mean, I used to play on random servers, until I realized the Team servers are better now, only on the occasion I do decide to play.

Yeah I will have to agree with Mal and Jaycat, Team play is better when its done right. That way you can coordinate attacks better, and better defend your flag outposts. when its all chaotic, you don't anyone backing you up...and you have attack heli go out with out side gunners. its a complete waste at that point.

thanks for all the good info. Hey aurora, what are the keybindings you spoke about. Also how do you know if your on a team server? Are the best ones password protected? How do you know if one of your friends is playing and how do you find them? I've tried to play with assult guy, but really don't like the iorn sights on the weapon, i love the red dot on the spec ops, also i've unlocked the barret 50 cal. sniper rifle, but still have to hit my target two times. Shouldn't the 50 be a one shot killer in 95% of the cases? I aim center mass, do i need to go for head shots? Is that the trick? Also is there anyway to get the spec ops weapon for the assult soldier? That would take care of my armor issue. Hey Jaycat, which server do you play? That sounds more like the game i'm looking for. Well again thanks, for the info.

Inverting the mouse does not help.

Inverting the mouse, make things harder i think, what view do you guys use? i use first person F9. For anything in the air.
makes it harder, w00t, mouse up for down and mouse back for up, how hard is that ? without it inverted its ultimate ghey.....

i've totally gone down the wrong path with bf2. i get no kicks out of capping bases, reviving downed soldiers, repairing vehicles... but I do geta HUGE kick out of being a suicide car bommer.

i can't stop doing it. spawn as spec-ops, load up a jeep with c4, then go balls-to-the-wall driving around with no brakes until i find an enemy tank, jeep or a squad of people. BOOOOOOMO!

i made a video of it (with music, even), can someone host it? it's 30mb.

I like to c4 the hell out of friendly heli, then i jump on and change position to just riding with detonator in my hand. Once we are loaded and in the air. i pick a nice time to blow us all up. I yell "In the name of Allah".

Then I get 100 uber hot midgie virgins in teh afterlife . . .
