Ahhh...I am beginning to regret my AW purchase. I received it in the mail on Nov 19, and have had problems with it since. But For some strange reason I still like the dammed machine.
THE BAD
1.)One rubber numbs that covers up the screen panel screws is missing (more ascetic than a real problem but for $4000 it would be expected to be there).
2.) My screen has a pixel failure right in the middle of the screen. Very annoying.
3.) My speakers are really quiet during DVD play. Called the AW tech help, went trough all the settings and reinstalled drivers. The speakers are still not working properly.
4.) The toggle switch that turns off the panel backlight when you close the screen is broken. Only after pushing it down a couple times with a paper clip will the backlight turn on.
5.) Start up is weird, I have to press the power button twice to get it to start up.
6.) The large silver button that allows you to open the screen frequently gets stuck, and is very difficult to engage.
All of the previously mentioned problems will be solved because I am sending it back on Monday to have it repaired!!!!!
The Good:
1.) Its fast!
2.) The cyborg green color looks great!
3.) People love the light up eyes.
4.) The screen is incredible (when it works)
5.) The remote works great for those extreme lazy days.
6.) It is quiet, and runs smooth.
7.) Battery life is acceptable for this caliber of a machine.
All in all I love this computer. As soon as these issues are resolved I am sure that it will be a most great machine!
As soon as I get it back I will post pictures, run benchmark tests, and make a more formal review.
