Ram in M6811

Thread Starter
I have an M6811 with the stock amount of ram. I was shopping around for sodimm memory, (1gb) and was noticing that the prices for PC2 3200/4200 are less than those of PC 2700/PC 3200 (Check it out here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...+sodimm&page=2). Does anyone know if PC2 3200 or PC2 4200 would be backwards compible with PC 2700 that is recommended for this machine.

Thanks,
James

PC3200 and 4200 will work just fine as it is backwards compatible. Just make sure the CAS Latency is 2.5 or less no matter what brand or speed you buy. I see alot of memory on there that is CL-4.

No, PC2 3200/4200 are not backwards compatible to PC2700/3200. More commonly referred to as DDR2, I wish they would have used either a different module size or different pin arrangement to avoid confusion.
