You have to be a little more descriptive about the situation and how you are losing connection ( Like how long it takes before you lose it from connection ) also what wireless card your using. The more information you give us the better and quicker we can fix your problem =D

HI
Using intel pro 2915 602.11a/b/g card router is a DELL one--both compatible
Can go several hrs without losing connection and usually comes back by itself within a minute or so and only has hpppened a few times in 3 months I have this laptop
But today it happened 3 times in a 10 minute time span and did not come back until I rebooted but then after 2 min again.

Just wondering if I can get back internet faster when it happens. When i right click on woreless icon in tray on PC , I NOTICE ONE OPTION IS "REPAIR". Is this what I might click??
Could a person using a cordless phone next door knock me off?/

WPA or WEP?

I have the Intel 2915 card too, and I also have a D-Link router. I have been wrestling with disconnects and problems left and right. I updated my firmware for BOTH the card AND the router to their latest, tweaked a million things, and it STILL didn't work. I decided to do ONE MORE THING, and so far, so good. Although I really hate to do it, I stopped using WPA2, and tried just WPA, which also didn't work right, so I downgraded once again to WEP. Sadly, it works now. It looks like I have to settle with WEP instead of the MUCH more secure WPA/WPA2. I hate this Intel card... -JB

try changing channels in the router, you may have interference from a cordless phone even if you dont own one.

Worked wonders for me

Also, let Windows handle the wireless connection and uninstall the Intel Proset software. That worked wonders for me.

Updating to the newest drivers fixed my 2915's dropout problems. Now it is fantastic.

I am having problems with my Intel 2915 card and it's very annoying.

My laptop is about three weeks old. Right after I got it and got the wireless connection working, I lost the connection the following day. After much support with both Linksys and Dell, I restored the system to the night I got it and it has been working fine since.

Then, last night, I tried it again and the friggin thing won't connect. I tried restoring it to the point it last worked (Tuesday night) and it still won't work.

How difficult is it to replace a card with a higher quality card? I'm actually considering returning the damn pc to Dell it has become so frustrating.

The Intel cards are one of the better made wLAN devices out there. Intel generally makes very good network devices.

Skip the Dell drivers and go directly to the Intel site for them. The last two releases have fixed this drop out problem (at least for me).

I havn't had a connection die on me for over 2 months now. I used to have a situation where the speed would just spiral down until there was no connection. All is well know. I have a WRT54GS router.

Double click the green sea-shell icon in your taskbar. Goto Help/About

Mine has 9.0.2.11 for just about everything except for the following:

IntelAE5.dell 3.0.0.60
zlib1.dll 1.2.1.0
iwca.sys 9.0.0.17
IWCA2K.sys 9.0.0.17

Software 100507
Driver 100507

Hope this helps.
