Newbi!! with a rookie question..

Thread Starter
Hello everyone..

Just received my 9880 today, and this thing is sweet, with power even my Buick Grand National can drool over . I do have a rookie question, reading over some of the posts, ive never clocked a computer to see how fast/speed its putting out..I would like to test this, but with some of the help from you guys/girls. Maybe you can lead me in the right direction on how to get in and give her what shes capable of...Any replies would be appreciated.

Thx

Jojo

While not specific to the model you have, this is a pretty comprehesive "starting point". Please review: http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=19651

so I guess you really just want to start benchmarking your new toy there are quite a few different benchmarks out there and there are many people on here who can tell you which to use and how to tweak it for better results. I myself have fallen into this trap. I would like to fore warn you on this. You will spend more time tweaking and running benches than you will actually spend useing your machine for purposes of gameing and such. So please keep in mind you may be starting an addiction that will have you useing your new $3k machine just to keep running check to make sure it can get a better score. I for one prefer to actually play the games that the benches use to test instead of running the benches. Either way have fun with your new purchase and let us know how it goes for you.

Benchmarking is a little of a, Will my computer run this game. But mostly for, Yo, my computer runs 5400 on 3dmark compaired ro your 5300. But other than that its a nice compairison to other computers to see if your computer is running lke it is suppose to and to make your you get optimal perforamance in a video game or a certain program you may use.
