I've read on the AW forum on their website that both do the same thing to fix the problem you just have to reinstall the video card drivers and it goes away.

I don't believe it's the graphics card. It's a lack of a driver the LCD needs to utilize (made by Hitachi).

Why a "default monitor" driver is installed for such a high-end system is unknown. The colors should show as good colors, not a washed "pink" as red and "baby blue" as blue.

So you are saying if I install the monitors driver it will go away.

That is the case, I believe. Try using an s-video cable and connect it to a TV. Viola! No washed out colors.

I bet your right!

I don't get any wash out using my 18.1 inch monitor.

Washed out = Nada on the Vid Card

As M42 expertly stated - Its not the vid card - its the driver for the 16.1. You will be happy to know that regardless of which vid card you choose you will get your very own washed out by default 16.1 display.

Enjoy!

So exactly how do you fix the problem? Just download the drivers for the LCD? Or would you have to reinstall the graphics card? I only ask because I read on this forum that if you went with the NVIDIA, you are getting a more stable card with less problems.

No fix - just work a round

adjust your color and gamma --- Save settings and all is fine until you run an app that resets your color settings. a Fix would be a new driver for the lcd.
