Bluetooth Headphones

Thread Starter
These Toshiba bluetooth headphones got a good review in the new Maximum PC, and I'm thinking about trying them out with my 9300. I'm a little concerned about the note that says "Requires Toshiba Bluetooth stack version 3.20.00 or higher".

Has anyone used these with their 9300?

The Dell Truemobile 350 does use the (*crappy*) Toshiba Bluetooth stack however I don't know which revision.

As a general rule I would steer clear of anything involving the Toshiba Bluetooth stack as it is far inferior to the Widcomm stack but YMMV.

If its any help i have the compaq ipaq set -- which is exactly the same as the toshiba (look em up on the web -- exact same model, just rebranded). Being that the BT is made by toshiba, i downloaded the newest stack drivers from the Toshiba site -- now i can listen to my headphones on a ppc or notebook. They work fine, as long as you have stereo headphones as an option in the stack. So go to toshiba and d/l the newest BT software, and it'll run fine.

What's the difference? I JUST installed my new Truemobile 350. (Purdy blue light. )

Right, I have never really looked into this bluetooth stack thing. Installed windows and it controls bluetooth automatically - never installed anything. What is it using? Should I try this 'hack' that allows me to use other 'stacks'.. and why (after all, it connects with my phone and thats all I need)?

You can get the latest Toshiba driver if you want to give it a try from here:

I just finished trying that. It made the movement with my bluetooth mouse (a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth) extremely jerky. After going back to the drivers from Dell's site (you're right, it's 3.03.02), my mouse is back to normal. Oh well, I guess I'll do without wireless headphones for now--I don't want to give up my mouse.

Thanks for the suggestions.
