Ok, so I finally made it through the system restore, it took all 3 recovery disks, then rebooted itself, then it pops up:
""Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:\windows\system32\config\system
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original setup CD-ROM. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.""
BUT, the recovery CD'S aren't really setup disks, so it will just go back into trying to delete and reformat my notebook. I hold down 'R' and nothing happens. I tap F8, and it won't allow me to start up in another mode, it will reboot and say the same thing.
I went to the microsoft support site, and all their solutions require recovery console, which i cant get to, because the pc wont start, and i dont know how toget it any other way. They say this error comes up though, because of a missing registry file. How do i repair it, if i cant get to the welcome screen? It just gets to 'Toshiba' then a black screen with white bars all the way across then the error message.
Any help would be appreciated.
