Dell 6000 memory upgrade

Hi

I got a Dell 6000 with 256 ram and am planning to add another 512 or 1gig on top of it.
Question:
Can I have one slot with 256 and another with 512?
Does anyone know reliable cheap deals?

Yes, you can have two different sizes in the slots. NewEgg has 1GB of Crucial memory for $120.
