hold on one sec...

There's a few things that irk me about this

1) The coupon code title says 40% on the website

2) after clicking "customize it" for the i9300, you notice there's no option to upgrade the video card above the x300 (which from what I've seen on this forum, most people use a 6800)

3) They offer the base warranty as 3yrs.

Other things I find interesting about this offer, since I recently ordered mine via the 40% off deal in august:

This base config is $1201. After tax I'm assuming this is around $1300.

I paid about the same price when I ordered my 9300 with the following config:
1.6 Ghz (plan to upgrade later)
256 Mb RAM (plan to upgrade later)
17" WUXGA
6800 for video
60g 7200rpm
1yr warranty (mail-in)

I'm not trying to say the deal right now is bad or anything, but it's interesting to observe how dell constantly changes things in their customizations.

Another interesting thing is how I cannot apply the coupon code if I customize a 9300 by going straight to the dell site, clicking on 9300 -> customizing one that let's me have a 6800 card/a few other options.

Oh, for a second there I was going to go ballistic. Lol! Till I realized this too had its strings pulled here and there. Oh well, someone go ahead and jump on this. 3yrs is awesome and 300x is great too cuz of the 5hours of battery life.

I may say... lucky for all who gets i9300 with Go 6800 GFX card before they remove the option.

No 6800 then its worthless in my eyes isnt thats why we all get 9300 for the 6800 and who wants 3 years at home in 3 years this thing will be gone and the 7800 go will be out MAYBE!

In the end with Dell its always to good to be true and something always screws up the deal.

Looks like a good deal for anyone that just wants a laptop for everything but gaming and heavy 3D work.

I concur not a bad deal at all but just not enough choices. I ordered mine early this weak and got 35% off of my choice I9300

Heh, please note my signature. Some people don't get the 9300 as a desktop replacement, you know. And the x300 works perfectly for a secondary, casual or just plain not as expensive gaming machine.

I got the 9300 because I wanted the 17" 1920x1200 screen. I got the x300 specifically because I wanted better battery life, and I've heard how much the 6800 eats battery life.

First of all:
Darn you Americans! :P jk

Secondly:
Try phoning a Dell CSR/ISR and asking them to manually upgrade your video card after using that coupon code with your config.

They majorly jacked up the prices when this coupon went into effect. The price is definitely not "hot".

40% without Gf 6800, ... sUx

When I'm reading about these latest 40% off, 45% off etc. coupons, my thoughts go "what's up with Dell" ... Is there even a slight chance Dell might come to its senses and offer the real deal BIG% off coupons in near future or not? And offer these coupon w/ the 6800Go GPU option included (or some other similar GPU; not only the X300)? ... Or do latest lame coupons 'really' signal the end of i9300 sale? I know this PC doesn't show its age and it's not on sale for long time (approx. 6 months or so). What is your opinion? Does Dell really prepare to remove the i9300 (hence only X300 option on coupons) and replace it with its successor (for what ever that will be)?

Not a good deal, espcailly with x300.
Just an FYI...those coupons no longer work. They worked yesterday, but no such luck as of 5min ago. As in, the 5min ago I was officially placing 'the' order for a 9300

Sorry for the rest of you that put it off like myself
