Calling all MEDDUDES, calling all MEDDUDES, we are waiting for a post on your Michael's Computer. Per your earlier post, it was to ship on the 5th and you should have gotten it by now as its the 10th. Any word? Any word at all?

Still no word. I'm out of town today, later I will talk to my wife to get my email.

If interested....

I did email them and get a response within 24 hours. However, the response was a little more generic than I liked, basically just saying all the specs were correct. The quick response was encouraging but Im still cautious. My personal belief is that this is a legit company but is using a regular mobile Athlon 64 processor (ie Voodoo Envy M:855 I believe). The fact that the descriptions seemed to be stretched is a concern when forking over 3000. They do offer a money back guarantee but it does have a 15% restocking fee which is a nice chunk of change.

I shouldnt say this prematurely but I think you've been scammed

Still - hoping you get a laptop with everything that was advertised...

For all you know they are probably trying to hit people who dont know how to check their system hardware configuration - this should be the first thing you should do and if everything checks out - REVIEWS!!!

Pray!!

Sunday I received an email stating that my MX51 would be shipped out this week. I haven't heard anything from him and therefore emailed a few hours back and told him that if he was unable to ship out the MX51 by friday then to cancel my order.

I will keep you updated. I'm highly considering the Go-l Hollywood 17".

Good luck with another scam

I just dont understand your drive to get ripped off...the risks you take for no obvious reason...

Why dont you just order a Hypersonic or Voodoo or whatever system comes with the CPU that you want AND has a decent market name...those two are pricey but highly recommended...

You're either very rich or totally nuts...sorry to say that

And I dont mean that in a MEAN way...

Go-l is not a scam. Maximum PC has a review of one of their desktops in the January issue. Everytime I have called I have gotten a human whom was very helpful. If you research the company you would realize it is legit.
A little more research will tell you that it is NOT legit and is a very well thought out scam.

Im not going to argue on this point - its your money and your decision...

Good luck

GS, stop with the smoke and mirrors. If you know Go-l is fake then tell us hwo and why. Otherwise stop spouting baseless info. I, personally do not like go-l but that doesn't give me reason to say whatever I want about it.

So, BSFERRARI, what you are telling me is that Maximum PC puts, on the cover, a desktop of a company that is a scam?

1st link shows the January cover with the Go-l Mach L on the cover
http://www.maximumpc.com/

2nd link is a Maximum PC forum talking about the Go-l Mach L pc.
http://forums.delphiforums.com/maxco...s/?topfolder=2

I've also included the statement:
From: [PC][Ch]amsalot (CHAMSALOT) Dec-10 9:58 am
To: ORHCNYS unread (5 of 11)

177282.5 in reply to 177282.1

I believe the CD/DVD topic has been addressed.
Maximum PC is not all hardcore (boot wasn't 100% hardcore either my friend). There has been some mainstreaming to make the magazine attractive to a wider audience. That's why you'll see coverage of such things as MP3 players and PDAs.

Maximum PC does deliver however, on the hardcore front. Just check out the January 2004 issue if you're not convinced:

• 9-page Hardcore Hardware for 2004 Feature
• Mach L feature (http://www.go-l.com/desktops/index.htm ), a Maximum PC exclusive. This is the may be the most hardcore computer ever built! Until now, people didn't even know if it was for real or a prank!
• USB Key torture test (this isn't your Family-PC article)
• Case airflow design article
• 2-page Hypersonic Boom review
• GeForce 5950 review
• Serial ATA Hard drive shootout (4 drives put through the benchies)
• SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum review
• Logitech Z-5300 review
• Etc., etc., etc.

Not to mention the regular columns and features like The Watchdog and Ask The Doctor!

Geeze! This issue will take me two weeks to read! I can't imagine MPC getting anymore hardcore than this!

WHAT THE HELL ELSE DO YOU WANT??!?

To let everyone know, gsferrari had no influence on the decision I made earlier today.

Michaels Computers emailed me sun. stating my MX51 would be shipped out this week. Thur. evening I had still heard nothing and emailed him that if my MX51 was not shipped out by Fri. then I would cancel my order. Still no word as of today and therefore my order is officially cancelled.

Sorry, no review on that computer will come from this cat.
