Hye dudes, my 9300 just arrived and it's sweet. It does have one extremely annoying problem. Whenever i crank the spearkes up, and it doesn't have to be much, just like at the 1/2 way mark, i get this loud and really noticeable rattling noise from somewhere.
Anyone have this problem and perhaps a solution? thx in advance.

I have heard this is common, its the CD drive...hold it still and u wont hear any rattle. I got a replacment laptop because my last one had problems and it rattled...this one has a different cd rom and doesnt buzz

It was my subwoofer for me I had to go into my volume control and turn it down to half way to get it to stop.

ahhh nvm it's not the mouse buttons, what else could it be?

I always thought that it was several keys or parts on the keyboard. Anyways, you could try keeping it below a certain volume. Or like someone suggested, I think if you turned down your subwoofer volume (maybe even by 10%), it would get rid of the rattling. And maybe some of the distortion, too.

I noticed the same thing with my CDRW/DVD drive...but, it only rattles when it's spinning...and even then, only sometimes...I'm going to see if it gets better...if not, dell will be getting a call.

Crack open your laptop and tighten all the screws around the sub woofer and the CD drive. If that doesn't help, get some car audio board deadener (it's a 1/8" thick board with adhesive, not dynamat) and put it around the subwoofer to absorb the vibrations.
